The Diocese held a very successful family day at Mount Melleray Abbey on Sunday 29th September. The sun shone and a big crowd gathered for the day.
The children were entertained with a bouncy castle and slide. Facepainting, arts & crafts were also part of the day. A kite making workshop was very successful venture. Holy Family Mission provided entertainment for the children with music and action songs during the afternoon, as well as storytelling.
Dungarvan Brass band entertained with beautiful music. Prayer was very much part of the day with a packed church for benediction with the monks, and lightfever took place throughout the afternoon in the public chapel.
The day concluded with two choirs – Cahir to Sing and the Melleray Choir – coming together to sing beautiful reflection pieces during a prayer service.
Thank you to all who came along to this event. Huge thanks to Dom Richard Purcell and the community of monks at Mount Melleray for their hospitality and welcome.
